The three nutrients in this product - N-Acetyl Cysteine and the essential trace minerals selenium and molybdenum, support the body to sustain its glutathione levels. These nutrients also support the enzymes that help clear toxic substances within the body as well as the health and function of many important proteins. These nutrients are all naturally integral to the body’s biochemistry.
NAC, a derivative of the amino acid L-cysteine, is a precursor to glutathione and is one of the most important nutrients to support tissue levels of glutathione.
Selenium is naturally required by a variety of enzymes that are detoxification, antioxidant and redox supporters, molybdenum is indispensable for enzymes that detoxify sulfur compounds. The selenium and molybdenum in this formulation each have unique properties that support detox enzymes.
Detoxification enzymes in the liver, kidneys, lungs and other organs use glutathione to bond with toxins and thereby make them able to mix into water for excretion (usually via the urine). The detoxification system has considerable overlap with the antioxidant defence and redox regulatory systems.
